Burgerac's 4th july barbecue mix
After I played a two-hour set of “Music To Grill Meat To” on Comms Bureau, Pick Me Up festival’s pop-up radio station back in May 2014, the good folk at Cool Hunting in New York asked me to do a special mix for them in time for the 4th of July seasonal backyard barbecue and firecracker celebrations.
The hour-long selection includes tracks by Tony Joe White, The Meters, Dr John, Creedence Clearwater Revival and Lynyrd Skynyrd – but also songs by The Rolling Stones and The Beatles – just to make sure that among the bone-fide swamp-classics there's the unmistakable (and entirely appropriate here) flavour of transatlantic cultural exchange.
